About the Author

Susie Vaughan lives in Gwent, South Wales, with her husband and three children.
After leaving school, she trained and worked as a journalist on the South Wales Argus.
She made her first basket with willow from a tree that had fallen across a local brook, following instructions in a magazine.
Her basketmaking began as a hobby but she soon decided to specialize in hedgerow baskets, intrigued by the natural range of color and texture. She now gives talks and demonstrations, and her work has been exhibited at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and many regional galleries.
